Paula’s wish was to have her body donated to the University of Utah Eccles School of Medicine for advancing medical science. When her education and research purposes are completed, her ashes will be returned. This process can take up to two years. At that time, Peter and step daughter, Mercedes, will travel to Santa Barbara, California, her spiritual home, to select a final resting place for her ashes.
Paula did not want a grave stone. But now, I feel I need a physical marker I can stand in front of when the need for a visit arises. Paula loved Red Butte Garden concert series under the summer starry skies and was a frequent member to the gardens for decades. I would like to donate an artistic, memorial bench as the appropriate marker to honor her legacy, and continue her charitable giving to others. I hope to place it hillside, so that after a short climb or stroll through the spectacular scenery, one has a seat with a view overlooking the grounds and to the Great Salt Lake.
Your name will be included in the donation and ascribed on the bench. If Red Butte Garden is not available, then I will find another suitable location.
